Movers at Sagene
Sagene, Bjølsen and Sandaker are in many ways the easiest area we move in. More buildings with lifts, wider streets and easier access for the van.
Mixed housing means better access
Sagene has both old tenement buildings along the Akerselva river and a good deal of functionalist blocks and housing co-operatives from the 1930s onwards, up towards Bjølsen and Åsen. The newer buildings more often have lifts, and the streets around them are wider than in the inner city.
For you that usually means fewer hours. A three-room flat with a lift and parking right outside takes considerably less time than the same flat on the fourth floor without a lift on Løkka.
Housing co-operatives have their own rules
Many buildings here are housing co-operatives, and a number of them have rules for how communal areas may be used on moving day – for instance that the lift must not be blocked at certain times, or that the entrance door cannot be left open unattended.
Check with the board in good time, and let us know if there is anything we need to take into account. We will plan the day around it.
Families move more than they think
Sagene is an area many people move to when they have children, and a family with children usually has far more baggage than two adults in the same square metres: bicycles, prams, sports gear and boxes in the loft and the storage room.
Count on the storage room. It is almost always forgotten when people estimate how much they have, and on its own it can add an hour or two.
