Majorstuen is both a residential area and a shopping street. We move flats in the side streets and shop and office premises along Bogstadveien – often in the same week.
Bogstadveien takes planning
If you are moving shop or office premises along Bogstadveien, the timing is half the job. The street has a tram line, heavy foot traffic throughout opening hours, and very limited scope for parking a van.
That is why we usually schedule such jobs for early morning or after closing. Then we can get to the door, and you do not lose a trading day. We come and look at it beforehand and establish where the van can actually stand.
The homes in the side streets
The streets around Valkyrie plass, Jacob Aalls gate and Sorgenfrigata are tenement buildings from the early 1900s. Some have lifts, some do not, and the standard varies more than in the neighbouring areas.
Tell us the floor and whether there is a lift when you ring – those are the two pieces of information that matter most for what the move will cost.
A transport hub means traffic
Majorstuen is one of the busiest junctions in the city, with metro, tram and bus in every direction. In the rush hours between 07 and 09 and between 15 and 17, it takes an unreasonably long time to get in and out with a removal van.
So we prefer to start outside rush hour on this side of town. It is not only easier – it is cheaper for you, since the clock runs while we sit in a queue.
